The annual \u201cKids Count in Colorado\u201d report shows the youth suicide rate statewide has hit a 9-year low, for \u201colder\u201d teens, young people ages 15 to 19. That total has now dropped by a third in the last few years. Many of those young people say they\u2019re preparing for or going to college for the first time. At CSU, experts say they\u2019re now seeing a generation that\u2019s prioritizing mental health, and that\u2019s encouraging, according to the university\u2019s Manager of Mental Health Initiatives, Janelle Patrias (PAY-tree-us)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She calls this latest \u201cKids In Colorado\u201d document \u201cpromising,\u201d and points out that CSU offers students resources to deal with moving away from home and to new classrooms, often before they\u2019re needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
