CDOT\u2019s going to start some rock scaling and blasting in the Floyd Hill area today. That work\u2019s expected to go on about 2 weeks, Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 3 pm. CDOT says expect at least 20-minute-long traffic delays at a time, and they could go as long as 45 minutes. There won\u2019t be any detour routes in place, so be sure to plan ahead, and allow yourself some extra time. That project\u2019s expected to improve an 8-mile stretch of I-70, adding a third westbound travel lane, a new Express Lane, from west of Evergreen to the eastern edge of Idaho Springs. Several bridges are going to be rebuilt due to wear and tear.
