The February incident seemed to start routinely, when 28-year-old Brent Thompson was pulled over by Larimer County Sheriff\u2019s deputies on an I-25 ramp near Loveland, for an expired license plate. First, Thompson gave them a fake name. Then, he started to run away, and the deputy chased him. Thompson is seen on video jumping a guardrail onto the interstate surface, and that\u2019s where the deputy stuns him. Thompson falls in the middle of a traffic lane, and is hit by an SUV. While the family wants that deputy to face charges, the local DA disagrees, saying despite poor judgment, no crime was committed, and his actions were proper. The Sheriff also noted Thompson\u2019s body tested positive for high levels of fentanyl. The family says they\u2019re considering a civil lawsuit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
