Road games hadn’t been the Avalanche’s favorite lately, as they slid into Seattle to face the Kraken. And last night, Seattle scored first. But then, Colorado scored 4 straight goals, going on to win, 5-1. Tomorrow night, the Avs are back home to face the Mighty Ducks from Anaheim.
Late former Avs General Manager Pierre LaCroix (lah-KWAH) was enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame last night. He put together the Colorado squad that won its first 2 Stanley Cups. Former Avs Captain Joe Sakic (SAK-ick) and LaCroix’ grandson spoke at the ceremony.
Multiple media reports indicate that following last season’s championship run, the Nuggets have extended Coach Michael Malone’s contract for several years. ESPN says the new deal makes Malone one of the NBA’s highest-paid coaches. He’s already the 4th-longest tenured current coach in the league, and is third behind Doug Moe and George Karl for the most wins in franchise history. Tonight, the Nuggets host the Clippers at Ball Arena.
