The Rockies were up 4 to 1 on the Nationals to start the 9th inning in Washington Wednesday, but things went bad from there. Pitcher Daniel Bard loaded the bases, then hit one batter- that scored a Washington run… the next 2 batters also scored on a fielder’s choice and a walk to tie it up, and reliever Matt Koch (coke) couldn’t get it done either. The Nats got a simple base hit into right field, and it was a walkoff win for Washington, 5 to 4. Colorado opens a home series against the A’s on Friday.
